— GAME DESCRIPTION
FOODIES Table was a mobile game developed by Gameloft Montréal that focused on food plating and photography, similar to Design Home and Instagram.
The game, which targeted non-gamers with a polished, app-like UI, featured plating challenges and peer-based voting. It reached a soft launch on Google Play in June 2019 but was cancelled in December 2019.
Foodies Table – Launch Trailer (2019)
My job consisted to make the basic prototype of all menu designs and mockups for the, now cancelled during its early access in 2019, FOODIES Table app made by Gameloft.
The base of this project was to surf on the very early Instagram concept that home furniture apps were having at the time. In short the gist was to apply the home deco concept to a food plating concept.
The direction could never decide if it was to be 2D assets or 3D assets at the time. Hence why I made everything 2D my hand to at least propose something.
Graphical Elements were simple, flat and modern. Only interactive items were to be visually rendered and colored, so that at all times the player knows where to interact.
Hand gestures were to be a significant part of the concept, accessible via an interactive wheel ala Pinterest to sell, purchase, discard, move items.
The managment sought to build a progression system, with level ups giving access to more items and opening up the pantry, events, and other time-based activities.
A recap of the original pre-production flow I made a the base pitch for the game.
Since everything was built from the ground up in Figma, it was easy for me to export into a light themed version.
Also, every box and shapes that I requested the whole UI systems to be built with 9-slices; allowing for a very easy conversion & construction of varied styles and colors.
